About
From an early age, TM demonstrated a strong affinity for the arts. His formal training began at the age of six at the art academy, where he honed his foundational skills. This early start was complemented by further education in high school, where he delved deeper into the basics of art.
TM’s artistic journey is driven by a relentless pursuit of challenging assignments. He continually pushes the boundaries of his capabilities, striving to create works that test his skills and expand his artistic horizons.
Nature's complexity serves as a central theme in TM’s work. The intricate details and accuracy required to replicate the natural world fascinate him, providing a familiar yet challenging subject matter that resonates with a broad audience. This focus on nature underscores his dedication to precision and realism.
Incorporating recycled materials into his work, TM finds unique challenges and inspiration. While not primarily focused on recycling, he is intrigued by the potential of materials like cardboard. Cardboard’s properties present specific challenges that TM embraces without extensive modification. His preference for visible cardboard elements in his work highlights the raw, unaltered beauty of the material, contrasting with more easily modified substances like plastic.
Varnish plays a crucial role in TM’s creations, offering protection from the elements and enhancing the longevity of his pieces. It allows for creative variations, such as matte or glossy finishes, and strengthens the artwork to prevent warping or bending over time.
TM's commitment to his craft means he aims to produce at least two artworks annually. However, the complexity and dedication required often result in one major piece each year. Currently, he is immersed in a Japanese bonsai project, a testament to his willingness to tackle intricate and demanding subjects.
