Recycle Portrait
Collage & Acryl on canvas
About
After completing my training at the Saint Lucas Institute in Tournai, I began my artistic journey as an artisan painter, specializing in painting church interiors, private and public buildings, and taking on numerous ceiling restorations. As I explored various painting styles, both figurative and abstract, I gradually devoted myself to portraiture, focusing on capturing the distinctive expressions of both well-known and unknown individuals.
However, it is the practice of recycling that lies at the heart of my artistic philosophy. Drawing on my experience as a designer of various objects, I learned that every creation demands a long and careful study. This principle has deeply influenced my work as a recycle artist. By repurposing discarded materials, I not only give them new life but also infuse my artwork with personal and environmental significance.
In my portraits, I use techniques ranging from Impasto to collage, incorporating recycled materials directly connected to the subjects. I refer to this process as Recycle Art because each piece is created using materials that have been thoughtfully selected and reused. These materials serve as both artistic elements and powerful symbols of sustainability, reflecting my commitment to creative reuse and environmental consciousness.
My partnership with MPC ART & NFT Gallery has allowed me to further explore innovative formats, such as NFT technology and immersive experiences through XR, VR, and AR, while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability. By integrating recycled materials into both physical and digital art, I aim to challenge conventional notions of waste and promote a more sustainable approach to creativity.
Through my work, I strive to show that art and environmental responsibility are deeply intertwined. Each piece is a testament to the idea that what is discarded can be transformed into something beautiful, meaningful, and enduring.
